ABOUT US:
High Point Pony is a PONY affiliated, non-profit volunteer-based organization that is dedicated to building character, courage and loyalty in local area youth. We provide a fun, safe and competitive baseball and softball program.
High Point Pony provides an opportunity for boys and girls of High Point and its surrounding communities between the ages of 3 and 15 to participate in one of America’s oldest and most esteemed youth league organizations. Every child is guaranteed playing time in every game. Since our beginning in 1989, High Point Pony has held the player registration fees to a minimum to attract as many participants as possible without creating a financial burden to our families.
High Point Pony is proud to serve as the annual host for a number of PONY International sanctioned tournaments. In past years, we hosted the Pony East Zone Championship, which is the last step before the Pony World Series in Washington, PA; as well as the Bronco 11u Piedmont Section, Bronco Piedmont Section, Bronco Piedmont District, Mustang Piedmont Section, Mustang West Section, Mustang Piedmont District, and Pinto South Regional Zone tournaments and the 1st ever Pony Softball State tournament for 8u, 10u & 12u Divisions. All told, our annual attendance tops 10,000 guests and attracts teams and fans from the entire Triad, the state of North Carolina, southern Virginia and Champions from the Mid-Atlantic and North East regions of the country.

Q: What does my child need to play?
A: It varies - depending on baseball vs softball and age group. See below:

Q: What is included with my registration fee?
A: 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 - jerseys, hats, and belts will be provided. 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 - jerseys, belts, and socks are provided.
Q: What color pants will my child need?
A: Your coach will share those details once your child is placed on a team. Coaches choose their own pants color to match their jersey selections.
Q: When are practices and games?
A: That depends. Practice days/times aren’t determined until player drafts. The game schedule will come out a few weeks later.
-For 8 years and above, you can typically plan on 2-3 events per week. There will be one weekday and 1 weekend practice until games start. Once games start, you will have one weekday game, one Saturday game, and one practice.
-For the younger age groups, once games start, teams may not practice at all or not as often depending on what the kids can handle.
Q: What are the usual weekday times for events?
A: Most baseball games are at 6:30pm. Some softball games will begin at 6pm. Some weekday practices (preseason) times are 6pm.
Q: If we can’t attend an evaluation in my child’s age group, can I attend one in another age group?
A: No – unfortunately not. Our evaluations are conducted by the coaches in the specific age group and are instructed to evaluate based on age-specific expectations.
Q: Are evaluations the same thing as “try outs?”
A: NO! Try outs mean some people won’t make the team. That is NOT how HPP works. Every child has a place in our program, regardless of skill level. Evaluations are just meant for our coaches to take notes on where each child is skill-wise. This helps us split up talent evenly across teams to make the season more fair and fun for everyone. It also give coaches an idea of where each player stands so they can know how to best help them during the season.
Q: Can I sign up to coach the team my child will be on?
A: Absolutely! When you register, sign yourself up as a VOLUNTEER. You will be able to select the option for Coach or Assistant Coach. If all head coaching positions have already been filled, our division commissioner will let you know and you will still be able to assist.
